01:00 – Event Ends (No re-entry to Assembly Rooms after 00:30)

Travel Information

Getting here:

Ticket Holders must head to Assembly Rooms to collect their wristband. This wristband grants access into the New Year Revels, and allows attendees to exit the Assembly Rooms to view the Midnight Fireworks & Street Party and re-enter the Assembly Rooms if they so wish – via Castle Street entrance ONLY.

PLEASE NOTE, the wristband will become VOID if it is taken off your person and you will not be allowed to re-enter the New Year Revels.

Please note that road closures will be in place, so check for service diversions before setting off. Full details of road closures can be found here.

Catching the train? Edinburgh Waverley Station is less than a 5 min walk from the Bank Street Entrance. You can also hop on a Lothian Bus or Edinburgh Tram, the official travel partner of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay. Find details of their festive timetables here:

Getting Home:

Lothian Buses

Lothian Buses will provide Hogmanay Night Buses running from midnight to 04:00am to each area of the city as well as various Mid-Lothian, West Lothian, East Lothian and Queensferry Routes.

Edinburgh Trams

Edinburgh Trams will provide FREE night trams from midnight to 2am every 10 minutes, then every 20 minutes until the early hours of New Year’s Day. West bound trams (towards Edinburgh Airport) will leave from the West-End Shandwick Place. East bound trams (towards Newhaven) will leave from Picardy Place.

Citylink

Citylink provide transport across Scotland. Coaches will run direct from the capital to locations across Scotland after the New Year celebrations have ended.  Services available from Edinburgh to; Harthill, Eurocentral, Baillieston, Easterhouse, Glasgow. These services must be pre-booked.

Taxi Stances

There are taxi stances located around the event in the following locations:

  • High Street – heading South/East
  • Chambers Street – heading South/East
  • North St Andrew Street – heading North/East
  • Lothian Road/Festival Square – heading West/South
  • Charlotte Square – heading West/North

Important Information

  • Age Restrictions – Strictly over 18yrs only.
  • Entry for New Year Revels ticket holders to the Street Party is strictly via CASTLE STREET ONLY.
  • Please note, NO ALCOHOL can be brought into the New Year Revels venue, there are licensed bars within the venue.
  • Please note this is a predominantly standing event and seating is limited. Premium Tickets provide access to seating areas.
  • Alcohol can be brought into the Street Party event arena in plastic or metal containers under 500ml. Glass containers are NOT permitted in the event arena
  • Maximum number of containers you can bring into the Street Party event arena is 4 per person
  • This event has a strict NO DRONE policy
  • Avoid bringing any bags larger than a sheet of A3 paper (297mm x 420mm).
  • Please note, in the interests of safety, Event Organisers reserve the right to conduct security searches of bags and clothing on entry.
  • Please note: the Street Party is an outdoor event taking place in winter in Scotland. Please dress for the weather and make sure you have warm, waterproof clothing and sturdy footwear if required. We operate a no-umbrellas policy for safety reasons and to ensure sightlines of other people. We will provide weather updates across all four days of events and be prepared for all weather eventualities.
