Event Conditions

OVERALL FESTIVAL CONDITIONS

  1. The Event Organiser reserves the right to search Ticker Holder’s bags and clothing for security reasons.
  2. Anyone under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs of age at all times (please see specific event conditions for age restrictions, if applicable).
  3. Alcohol CANNOT be brought into the event arenas and venues*. No glass can be brought into any event arena. Ticket Holders are requested to drink responsibly. *Street Party does allow alcohol to be brought into the arena but only in plastic containers and cans not exceeding 500ml.
  4. Ticket Holders are requested to dress appropriately for the weather conditions at Edinburgh’s Hogmanay, as the majority of Edinburgh’s Hogmanay events are outdoors.
  5. Ticket Holders are required to follow all safety instructions as instructed by event stewards and minders at all times.

EVENT CONDITIONS

Torchlight Procession Conditions 

  1. Torchlight Procession Ticket Holders are required to follow all safety instructions provided when carrying and disposing of torches at this event as instructed by stewards.
  1. The Torchlight Procession is an event featuring fire and wax based torches. Safety guards are supplied to protect Ticket Holders from hot wax. Please note, when windy the wax from the torches can be blown onto clothing. Whilst wax be easily removed from clothing (top tip – an iron and brown paper), participants are requested to dress appropriately and not carry torches if wearing delicate, light coloured fabrics. 
  2. While there is no age restriction at the Torchlight Procession, no children’s buggies are permitted on the route or finale point on Calton Hill. Where a Ticket Holder does bring children to the event, they acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond the Event Organiser’s control which might make the event unsuitable for children

Night Afore Concert Conditions

  1. While there is no age restriction at the Night Afore Concert, due to the nature of the event the Promoter does not recommend the Event for children under 12 years old. No children’s buggies are allowed into the Venue and no babes in arms are permitted. Where a Ticket Holder does bring children to the Night Afore Concert, they acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond the Event Organiser’s control which might make the event unsuitable for children.
  2. Re-entry to the Night Afore Concert Venue is not permitted (i.e. leaving the Venue and trying to gain re-entry). If a Ticket Holder leaves the Night Afore Concert Venue, they will NOT be permitted back into the Night Afore Concert Venue.

Sprogmanay Conditions

  1. Children must be accompanied and supervised by an adult over 21 at all times.

The Candlelit Concert Conditions 

  1. Please note due to the quiet nature of this event it is not suitable for young children or babies.

Hogmanay Street Party Conditions 

  1. No person under 12 years old is permitted at the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party. 
  1. Anyone under 16yrs must be accompanied by an adult over 21yrs of age at all times
  1. Entry to the Street Party requires ticket holders to present a valid wristband, access pass or authorised guest pass issued by or on behalf of the Promoter which must be worn/retained at all times.
  2. There is strictly NO ENTRY to the Edinburgh’s Hogmanay Street Party after 11pm, so ticket holders are advised to arrive early. Entry to the Hogmanay Street Party Venue is not guaranteed by a specific gate. Entry gates may be closed prior to 11pm for safety reasons, and the ticket holder will be redirected to the nearest entrance in those circumstances.  
  3. Alcohol CAN be brought into the Hogmanay Street Party Venue but ONLY in plastic containers and cans not exceeding 500ml. No glass can be brought into the Venue.
  4. Street Party tickets do not allow access into the Concert in the Gardens or the Old Town Ceilidh events or any other advertised Festival events.

Concert in the Gardens Conditions 

  1. While there is no age restriction at the Concert in the Gardens, due to the nature of the event the Promoter does not recommend the Event for children under 12 years old. No children’s buggies are allowed at the Concert in the Gardens and no babes in arms are permitted. Where a Ticket Holder does bring children to the Concert in the Gardens, they acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond the Event Organiser’s control which may make the event unsuitable for children. A dedicated access gate is available via King’s Stables Road, which is outwit the Street Party as access for anyone attending this event with under 12s in their party cannot be gained through the Street Party.
  2. No pass-outs at the Concert in the Gardens Venue are permitted (i.e. leaving the Venue and trying to gain re-entry). If a Ticket Holder leaves the Concert in the Gardens Venue to access the Hogmanay Street Party at any time, the Ticket Holder will NOT then be permitted back into the Concert in the Gardens Venue.
  3. The Concert in the Gardens tickets also grant the ticket holder access to the Hogmanay Street Party. Ticket Holders can access the Hogmanay Street Party before entering the Concert in the Gardens or if a ticket holder wishes to leave Concert in the Gardens early. Stewards reserve the right to deny access at any time. Please note that children under 12 are not permitted into the Street Party arena, however access is available via King’s Stables Road entrance.

The Old Town Ceilidh Conditions 

  1. While there is no age restriction at the Old Town Ceilidh, due to the nature of the event the Promoter does not recommend the Event for children under 12 years old. No children’s buggies are allowed at the Old Town Ceilidh Venue and babes in arms are not permitted. Where a ticket holder does bring young children to the Old Town Ceilidh, they acknowledge that there may be conditions or circumstances beyond the Event Organiser’s control which might make the event unsuitable for young children. Access for anyone attending this event with under 12s in their party cannot be gained through the Street Party, however there is a separate entry gate to this event which is outwit the Street Party arena on High Street.
  2. No pass-outs at the Old Town Ceilidh Venue are permitted (i.e. leaving the Venue and trying to gain re-entry). If a ticket holder leaves the Old Town Ceilidh venue to access the Hogmanay Street Party at any time, the ticket holder will NOT then be permitted back into the Old Town Ceilidh. 
  3. The Old Town Ceilidh tickets also grant the ticket holder access to the Hogmanay Street Party. Ticket Holders can access the Hogmanay Street Party before entering the Old Town Ceilidh Venue or if a ticket holder wishes to leave Old Town Ceilidh early. Stewards reserve the right to deny access at any time. Please note that children under 12 are not permitted into the Street Party arena.

The Loony Dook Conditions 

  1. Dookers must wear shoes to enter the water.
  2. Dookers must buy a ticket in advance and check-in at least 30 mins prior to the event start time on the day.
  3. Please bring a warm change of clothing. There are no changing areas available at the event.

Scot: Lands Conditions 

  1. There is no age restriction to the Scot:Lands events, however parents are advised that not all content will be suitable for under 16s. Appropriate signage will be present where this applies. 

The Final Fling Conditions

  1. If a ticket holder is in the National Museum of Scotland before the event starts, the ticket holder is requested to leave the venue and re-enter at the time of the event.

Tim Burgess in Conversation Conditions

  1. There is no age restriction to the Tim Burgess in Conversation Event, however parents are advised that not all content will be suitable for under 16s.
